“You Don’t Need to Prove Anything” / Advent 4 2016 / Philippians 4:5Pr. Christopher Gillespie
18. December 2016
Philippians 4:5; John 1:19-28
Summary: When people are confident in possessing something, they have no need to convince others. Only the uneasy and uncertain painfully work to establish recognition and assurance. “Reasonableness,” as used in our Epistle, means the quiet confidence of being God’s child who possesses God’s riches and truth and lives in this confidence, awaiting the promised fulfillment.
